The 2021 Times Higher Education rankings published last week offer further insights on the performance of #Italian HEIs re.: percentage of international students.
Here’s the top ten (2021), with a +/- comparison with last year’s:
Sant’Anna Pisa 20% (+ 1%)
Polytechnic of Milan 18% (+ 1%)
Polytechnic of Turin 15% (+ 2 %)
Rome II – Tor Vergata 13% (+ 2%)
Free University of Bolzano 12% (- 1 %)
University of Bologna 12% (=)
Scuola Normale di Pisa 11% (=)
University of Florence 10% (-1%)
Ca’ Foscari University of Venice 10% (=)
University of Genoa 9% (=)
University of Siena 9% (+1)
University of Trieste 9% (+1)
6 top HEIs grew; 4 were stable; 2 lost positions.
When considering international students, THE rankings show that the average of all ranked HEIs was 7% in 2020, and is 6% in 2021. This is mainly due to two factors:
1) There are 4 “news” HEIs in the 2021 rankings, and their international students component is 1,5% on average;
2) On average, there has been no growth so to counterbalance these new entries
