Geopolitics is on the rise

Geopolitics on the rise

Geopolitics on the rise. In these Covid times, this topic is definitely trendy, with a flourishing of blogs, websites, YouTube channels, and daily podcasts.

New technologies allow to better understand a geopolitical situation around the World, without the need to travel extensively.

Also, geopolitics on the rise means that the World, geopolitically-speaking, is changing. And a changing World means a change of paradigm also in the internationalisation of higher education, as well as in international students recruitment.

Students may be willing to study elsewhere if compared to the XX century patterns. Especially to follow employability opportunities arising in emerging powers, such as China or India.

Also, the change of geopolitical alignment in some English-speaking countries may influence interesting developments elsewhere. Brexit will favour the retention of EU students by EU universities. As well, Chinese-Australian trade war may result, in the future, to a rise of Chinese students in Europe, and hence in Italy.

What follows is a tentative top 10 conceived also for the Italian reader. All channels are in English unless otherwise stated.
